Heal, Reclaim, Reconnect
Step into the dignity of who you are.
Step into the dignity of who you are.
Trauma makes us feel like we are irreparably broken. We are no stranger to struggle, whether that be with our emotions, behaviors, and relationships, or whether it be with our relationships with ourselves. We often struggle to know who we are when we have only been able to be who we've needed to be to survive; as a result, we spend much more time trying to figure out and "fix" what is wrong with us, rather than considering what is right with us and what makes sense about our experience. There is wisdom in survival. You are here because you have continued to find a way to survive. We can continue to survive and also find ways to come home to ourselves.
I offer dignity-based, empowerment-focused trauma services, including therapy, assessment, and consultation, that help people heal from the ways they have been hurt, reclaim what they have lost, and reconnect in the world with purpose, meaning, and authenticity. My approach is relational and collaborative, integrating the best available evidence on how trauma impacts neurology, development, sense of self, and overall well-being.
It is not uncommon for survivors of trauma to wonder if things can get better. I believe things can, and do, get better when we work together to . I believe that every person has within themselves the wisdom and strength necessary to heal and live a fulfilling life.
I aspire to treat every person with dignity and provide a non-judgmental space that is safe and conducive to healing. I believe that you, and all parts of you, have a right to exist and be treated with compassion, empathy, and understanding. I often work with individuals who have been hurt in the very relationships that were supposed to be safe and supportive (possibly including prior therapy relationships). As such, I respect that entering into a new therapy relationship may produce fear, anxiety, or apprehension and always aim to support whatever might be needed to foster safety and connection. I aim to combine my own knowledge, education, and training with the expertise you bring on your own lived experience. Together, we approach your concerns and needs in a collaborative way.
